Our Sweetgrass braids are grown in our home garden. We grow, cut, braid, and allow to dry. Sweet grass braids are used for Smudging and as a natural incense. Braided with 3 sections which symbolize mind, body, and spirit. Many people and cultures use sweet grass to cleanse their house, apartments, office space, ones self, cars, or spiritual tools (crystals, Tarot cards, crystal spheres, etc.)
~ You get 1 or 2 Hand braided grass braid (choose at checkout).
~ Made each Fall. Please allow to dry completely before use. A dry braid will be brown / tan in color.
~ Hand cut, washed, and braided with thread to hold together.

Will be shipped wrapped in tissue paper. The braid will be in a circle for shipping purposes as well for drying. Please allow the braid to fully dry before using it. To untie, carefully clip the Thread that holds the braid in the circle. Do not clip the thread that holds the sections braided. Store in a cool, dry place such as a cabinet.
Sweet grass, also called holy grass, is a very long form of grass, that is thicker and rough in texture. It grows in certain parts of the country and can be very tall. My plants are about 7 feet tall in my garden. A sweetgrass braid is this grass braided.
It is very common and normal for your sweetgrass to have to be relit when smudging. Some batches burn quick and others slow. It depends also on how dry the grass is. I recommend always having a lit candle or a lighter with you while smudging for easy lighting. Only use the smoke to smudge. Again, it's normal for natural herbs to sometimes produce a lot of smoke or sometimes not as much. It depends on the batch. Have any questions, please ask.
You can cut the braid into 3 inch sections before lighting if you want, or burn in smaller sections as natural incense on an herb burner.

This braid also looks nice hanging from a window, shelf, or above a doorway. Bringing the outdoors in. I have a sweetgrass bundle on my mantle and braids hanging above my doors.
