I started this painting many years ago and never finished. Every time I would start, there would be something I would get stuck with, and I would get frustrated and put the painting back in my studio. I did this on repeat for many years. This can happen sometimes and can be frustrating for an artist, because we want our paintings to not only be perfect visually but also a perfect expression of what we are trying to convey.
This painting is done in acrylic paint on a wooden board canvas. The main character is a porcelain doll like girl who sits by her balcony. Flowers and leaves fall behind her in the morning New Orleans wind. Her favorite dolls sit beside her as she prepares for another carnival season.
